Ingredients:
Chicken schnitzel
Salt and pepper to taste
Flour
Egg
Breadcrumbs
Oil for frying
For the fiery sauce:
1 onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
1 red pepper, cut into small pieces
1 can of chopped tomatoes
1 teaspoon paprika powder (sweet or hot, depending on your preference)
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper or chili powder (to taste)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon oil for frying
Directions:
Lightly pound the schnitzels and season with salt and pepper. Prepare the flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs. First coat the schnitzels in the flour, then dip them in the egg and finally roll them in the breadcrumbs.
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the breaded schnitzels until golden brown. Then drain on kitchen paper.
For the fiery sauce, heat the oil in a separate pan. Fry the onion and garlic until they are translucent. Add the pepper pieces and continue to fry.
Add the chopped tomatoes and season the sauce with paprika, cayenne pepper or chili powder, salt and pepper. Mix everything well and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes until it has thickened.
Place the fried schnitzels on plates and pour the fiery sauce over them. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Bon appetit!
